Le Rwanda vient de présenter, une nouvelle fois, la candidature de Louise Mushikiwabo pour diriger l'Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), cette fois pour un troisième mandat.
De son côté, la République démocratique du Congo n'a présenté aucun candidat, alors même que de nombreux observateurs espéraient une candidature congolaise, compte tenu du poids démographique, linguistique et culturel du pays au sein de l'espace francophone.
Dans ce contexte, Emmanuel Macron semble déterminé à soutenir et à reconduire une nouvelle fois Louise Mushikiwabo au poste de Secrétaire générale de l'OIF.
